Intelligent Multimedia Technologies for Financial Risk Management
Trends, tools and applications
The global financial crisis has highlighted major weaknesses in the finance industry including access issues to financial records and information, higher operational risks, flawed bankruptcies and foreclosure proceedings. The increased online presence and homeworking during the ongoing pandemic have significantly expanded the attack surface for cybercriminals and the scope for criminals to exploit vulnerabilities and commit financial crimes. Multimedia technologies have opened a wide range of possible applications by combining a variety of information sources such as voice, graphics, animation, images, audio, and full-motion video which can be successfully implemented in banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) industries to support their activities and strategic goals.
This volume brings together researchers from distinct domains that seldom interact to identify theoretical, technological, and practical issues related to the management of financial risks including multimedia technologies, multimedia information processing, data management and security. The book will provide an overview of multimedia technologies in finance and banking, introduce suitable techniques of machine learning and deep learning for financial data analysis, discuss fraud and cyber operation countermeasures for multimedia in financial services, present concrete applications of natural language processing (NPR) for financial data, introduce robotic process automation technology from the financial market to technology implementation, explain how self-supervised, unsupervised and semi-supervised learning are driving the financial market revolution, and unlock real-world case studies in multimedia banking across the globe.
The book is intended for professionals involved in multimedia systems and technology design and applications and will appeal to researchers and advanced practitioners in the fields of computer science, information science, cognitive science, data management, archival science, and cybersecurity. It can also be used as an advanced text for courses on multimedia with a focus on analytics and/or finance.
